“Storm Stella” is expected to cause very severe disruption across the East Coast of the United States on Tuesday 14 March 2017.

As a consequence, a large number of transatlantic flights from London’s airports are cancelled on Tuesday 14 March.  Flights to New York, Boston and Philadelphia are most affected with widespread cancellations.  There are delays and cancellations to Baltimore and Washington as well.

Airlines have also implemented flexible rebooking policies for those who are due to travel to the East Coast of the USA this week.

If your flight is cancelled you should be entitled to a full refund or a rebooking to an alternative date.

Here is the latest information from airlines operating transatlantic flights from London on Tuesday 14 March.

As at 23:00 GMT Tuesday 14 March, transatlantic operations from London’s airports should return to normal on Wednesday 15 March.

American Airlines

New York JFK:

AA has cancelled all flights from London Heathrow to New York JFK: AA101, A105, A107 and AA141.

AA has cancelled all flights from New York JFK to London: AA142, A100, A106 and AA104.

Philadelphia:

AA729 is currently showing as scheduled to operate but is delayed by two hours.

British Airways

New York:

BA has cancelled all flights from London City, London Gatwick and London Heathrow to New York JFK.   These are flights BA1, BA2273, BA117, BA113, BA173, BA115, BA179 and BA183.

As a consequence all flights from New York JFK to London are also cancelled.  These are flights BA2, BA178, BA176, BA116, BA114 and BA182.

BA has cancelled all flights from London Heathrow to Newark.  These are flights BA185 and BA189.

As a consequence all flights from Newark to London Heathrow are also cancelled.  These are flights BA184 and BA188.

Boston:

BA has cancelled all flights from London Heathrow to Boston.  These are flights BA213, BA203, BA215 and BA239.

As a consequence the following flights from Boston are cancelled BA212, BA202 and BA214.  BA238, a daytime flight from Boston, is due to operate.  However, BA238 is cancelled on Wednesday 15 March.

Philadelphia:

BA has cancelled all flights from London Heathrow to Philadelphia.  These are flights BA67 and BA69.

As a consequence the following flights from Philadelphia are cancelled.  These are flights BA66 and BA68.

Washington & Baltimore:

BA has cancelled BA217 from London Heathrow to Washington.  BA293 is currently showing as scheduled to operate.

BA has also cancelled BA217 from Washington to London Heathrow.  BA292 is currently showing as scheduled to operate.

BA229 from London Heathrow to Baltimore is scheduled to operate.  However, this flight is currently showing as delayed.

Rebooking Options:

If you are due to to travel on Tuesday 14 March and Wednesday 15 March you can rebook to an alternative flight up to an including Friday 17 March.

Flight DL1 from London Heathrow to New York JFK is currently showing as cancelled. DL2 and DL3 are showing as scheduled to operate.

Flight DL195 from London Heathrow to Philadelphia is currently showing as scheduled to operate.

United

All United flights from London Heathrow to Newark are currently showing as cancelled: UA883, UA28, UA17, UA921, UA941.

UA934, UA110, UA29, UA16 and UA940 from Newark to London Heathrow are currently showing as cancelled.

UA123 from London Heathrow to Washington Dulles is currently showing as cancelled. UA919 and US925 are showing as scheduled to operate.

UA122 from Washington Dulles is currently showing as cancelled.  UA918 and UA924 are showing as scheduled to operate.

Virgin Atlantic

New York

Virgin has cancelled the following flights from London Heathrow to New York JFK: VS25, VS3, VS9, VS45.  The following flights from New York JFK are also cancelled: VS26, VS4, VS10 and VS46.

Virgin has cancelled the only flight from London Heathrow to Newark: VS1 and the only flight from Newark to London Heathrow: VS2

Boston

Virgin has cancelled the only flight from London Heathrow to Boston: VS11 and the only flight from Newark to London Heathrow: VS12

Washington

Virgin has cancelled the only flight from London Heathrow to Washington: VS21 and the only flight from Washington to London Heathrow: VS22

Rebooking Policy

If you are due to travel to the above airports from 15 to 17 March 2017 you can rebook on alternative flights up to 24 March 2017.
