Last week marked the first anniversary of the second political shock of 2016: Donald Trump winning the US Presidential Election. It has been marked on both sides of the atlantic.

CNN looks back at Election night. The Washington Post reports how Trump’s message of mistrust is sinking in, even in journalism’s new ‘golden age’. Slate has a meticously reproduced all of The New York Times’ Breaking News alerts in The Year In Push Alerts: How Breaking News Became Our Lives.

Over here in the UK, Gary Younge looks at Trump’s supporters in Angry, White and American (Channel 4 / 4OD). Also on Channel 4 Donald Trump’s rise to the one of the most powerful men in the world is documente in Trump: An American Dream (Channel 4 / 4OD).

Also of note, political journalist Steve Richards looks at some of the biggest political earthquakes in Turning Points for BBC Parliament.

HBO premieres its new four part documentary marking 50 years of Rolling Stone Stories From The Edge.

Turning to audio, the BBC launches a new podcasting series Podcasting House allowing you to sample the best of its podcasting output.

Friendly Radio – The BBC marks 50 years of a somewhat unloved (internally) part of the BBC, local radio.

Finally, Danny Howard begins a new Friday night show on BBC Radio 1.
