British Airways has called on its Oneworld alliance partner Finnair to operate a number of short haul flights on its behalf throughout the summer 2022.

This follows a similar move at Gatwick where BA has wet leased Iberia Express aircraft.

Finnair will operate selected BA short haul fights based at Heathrow Terminal 3. This will run from 3 May until at least 31 August.

How Do I Know If My Flight Is Operated By Finnair?

If you have already booked a BA flight from Heathrow, you should be messaged by the airline to advise your flight will be operated by Finnair.

You can also check BA’s online timetable ahead of your departure.

When you click on the aircraft icon for the date of your flight, the full flight details should also say “Operated by Finnair” or “Operated by Finnair for British Airways”.

Finnair Wet Lease for British Airways.

Also note it’s possible that flights may from BA to Finnair and back again. Flights may also not be updated until shortly before departure.

How Will The Flight Differ?

The in flight service, whilst operated by Finnair crews, will be the same in both the Euro Traveller economy and Club Europe business class cabins.

Airport check in arrangements will remain unchanged.

Can I Change My Flight?

When BA wet leases aircraft from another airline it allows passengers to change their flight to one operated by BA.

Passengers can choose another BA flight at any of London City, Gatwick or Heathrow airports.

As Finnair Airbus A320 series short haul aircraft are in a relatively similar configuration to BA, and the in flight service should remain the same, there is little reason to do so in this instance.
