With the arrival of the Airbus A350, the A380 has been superseded as one of the most popular aircraft in BA’s fleet, particularly for passengers flying in Club World.
However, BA’s critical mass of 12 Airbus A380 is still the preferred choice of aircraft on many routes it operates from London Heathrow.
Here’s our guide to where the Airbus A380 is due to fly in 2020. The one significant change from previous years is that the A380 no longer flies to Miami and there appear be no plans to reintroduce the aircraft to this route.

Update August 2020: Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), BA’s schedules are significantly reduced until the end of 2020. BA’s Airbus A380 fleet is currently grounded and four Airbus A380 aircraft will be placed into storage for up to three years. The information below can no longer be relied upon for flights in 2020.
One of BA’s four daily flights from London Heathrow and Boston, flights BA213 & BA212, will be operated with the A380 for the summer season from Monday 30 March 2020 to Saturday 24 October 2020.
The BA A380 will fly to Chicago O’Hare daily on flights BA297 & BA296 for the summer season from Sunday 29 March 2020 to Saturday 24 October 2020.
BA flies the A380 on one of its two daily flights between London Heathrow and Hong Kong, flights BA27 & BA28.
From Sunday 29 March 2020 until Saturday 24 October 2020, the two flights are swap and BA31 & BA32 will be operated with the A380. It then swaps back to BA27 & BA28.
However, as BA31 & BA32 are cancelled until Sunday 31 May 2020, flights BA27 & BA28 will continue to operate with the A380 until Monday 1 June 2020.
BA’s two daily flights to Johannesburg BA55 & BA54 / BA57 & BA56 are currently operated with the A380.
From Sunday 29 March 2020, flights BA55 & BA56 continue to be operated with the A380. Flights BA57 & BA54 should be operated with a Boeing 747 until Sunday 25 October 2020 when BA reverts to a twice daily A380 operation. However, as at February 2020, BA plans to operate the A380 on flights BA57 & BA54 with the A380 during April and May 2020.
Not in 2020, but BA plans to fly the A380 from London Heathrow to Las Vegas (Flights BA275/BA274) from Saturday 2 January 2021 to Sunday 10 January 2021 for the annual Consumer Electronics Show.
BA operates the A380 on one of its three daily services, flights BA269 & BA268, from London Heathrow to Los Angeles.
From Sunday 29 March 2020, flights BA269 & BA268 will operate with the A380 on Monday, Friday and Sunday only. It then reverts ago a daily A380 operation from Sunday 25 October 2020.
BA flies the Airbus A380 from London Heathrow to San Francisco on one its daily flights, BA286 & BA287, on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday until Saturday 29 March 2020.
It then operates daily service from Sunday 29 March 2020 until Saturday 24 October 2020, after which the A380 reverts to Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.
BA flies the Airbus A380 on one of its two daily flights between London Heathrow and Singapore, flights BA11 & BA12.
Note that due to weakening demand for travel to Asia following the Coronavirus outbreak, Airbus A380 flights to Singapore may be substituted at short notice. BA plans to operate flights BA11 & BA12 with Boeing 777-300 aircraft during April & May 2020.
The remaining flight, BA15 & BA16, which continues from Singapore to Sydney is operated with a Boeing 777-300 aircraft.
The Airbus A380 will operate on this route daily from Friday 1 May 2020 to Wednesday 30 September 2020. The route then reverts to a Boeing 747.
The Airbus A380 operates to Washington Dulles daily on flights BA217 & BA216 until Sunday 29 March 2020. The route then reverts to a Boeing 747 and timetables do not current indicate that the A380 will return to this route.
