British Airways is to launch a new route from London Gatwick to Vienna from 17 September 2015.

BA will fly from London Gatwick to Vienna daily, except Saturdays. The service will reduce to four weekly from the start of the winter timetable from late October 2015.

Flight BA2560 Depart London Gatwick 16:00 – Arrive Vienna 19:10
Flight BA2561 Depart Vienna 20:00 – Arrive London Gatwick 22:30

Flights are on sale now on ba.com

easyJet also flies from Gatwick to Vienna up to twice daily. BA and Austrian Airlines also fly three+ times daily to Vienna from London Heathrow. It is of course possible to “mix and match” BA flights to/from Gatwick and Heathrow, if convenient.

Strictly speaking, this announcement by BA is also a reinstatement of a former route as BA flew from Gatwick to Vienna when it operated the “hub without the hubbub” at Gatwick in the 1990s: YouTube Advert

Update:

This route now operates on a winter seasonal basis. BA continues to fly Vienna year-round from Heathrow.
