It has been known for some months that British Airways will be operating special flights to mark its centenary, which falls on Sunday 25 August 2019.
The airline has not yet made any official announcement. However, schedules are currently showing that Boeing 747 aircraft (most likely those in retro liveries) will operate three domestic return flights from London Heathrow Terminal 5 on Sunday 25 August 2019.

It’s important to emphasise that BA has not yet made any official announcement about these flights. Clearly, there’s only so much that can be offered on a short domestic flight.
However, details of these flights have been shared online and on social media. They are being sold as two class flights and are booking up. These flights are also commanding a premium over other flights on the day. At the time of writing no Avios redemption seats are available.
For those flying elsewhere on the day of the centenary, there will no doubt be a lot else happening in the terminals and lounges.
Update Friday 7 June 2019
BA has now advised that it has not yet finalised its plans for its centenary. Therefore, if you booked one of the above flights in the expectation of special celebrations you can request a refund.
Update 2: Friday 7 June 2019
BA appears to have withdrawn plans to operate these Boeing 747 flights entirely. Passengers who have made bookings are receiving e-mails to advise that they will no longer be operated with a Boeing 747.
The 747 domestic flights on 25 AUG 2019 have been changed to standard small Airbus equipment!
