British Airways has relaunched plans for a new route from London Heathrow to Portland, Oregon.
In late 2019, BA announced plans for a new route from London Heathrow to Portland from June 2020. After an initial delay, the route launch was cancelled due to COVID-19.
The route has now been put back on sale from Friday 3 June 2022.
BA has today also relaunched its route to Pittsburgh. The airline has also relaunched summer seasonal flights from Gatwick to New York JFK and suspended Gatwick – Las Vegas.
Flights from London to Portland will operate five times weekly from London Heathrow Terminal 5. These will be operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft in a three class, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller, configuration.
Portland is close to other BA North America gateways Seattle and Vancouver. It is possible to “mix and match” arrival and departure airports in North America. BA also codeshares with Alaska Airlines from Portland to a number of airports on the US West Coast.
As Delta has suspended its summer seasonal route to Portland, BA’s route will the only service from London.
As ever, schedules remain subject to change due to changing restrictions to travel to and from the UK. You can keep up to date with BA route network changes with our dedicated long haul and short haul route network pages.
