Cathay Pacific opens its new business and first class lounges at London Heathrow Terminal 3

Cathay Pacific has today opened its new first and business class lounges at London Heathrow Terminal 3.

Today’s opening (Monday 28 November) is a soft launch ahead of the formal opening of the lounges on Wednesday 7 December 2016.

The lounges are designed by London based design agency Studioilse.

At 1,200 square metres, the lounges feature floor to ceiling windows and views of the airport’s northern runway.

The first class area of the lounges features “The Dining Room” with an at seat table service and a self service area known as “The Pantry”.

In the business class area of the lounge passengers have the option of a self service noodle bar and “The Food Hall”.

Other lounge features include eight shower suites, bespoke solo chairs, “The Bureau” and art work by Chinese artist Han Feng.

Note that not all facilities may be fully available ahead of the formal opening of the lounge.

The new lounges follow recent lounge refurbishments by Cathay Pacific at Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo Haneda, Bangkok and Vancouver.

The design of the lounges is intended to be an articulation of Cathay’s brand ethos “Life Well Travelled” and the choice of wood and soft green colours is intended to evoke a feeling of being at someone’s home rather than an airport.

The new Cathay Pacific lounge is the latest in a significant amount of investment by airlines in passenger lounges at London Heathrow. Qantas Airways is also due to open a new lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3 next year.

The lounge is open from 5.30am on Monday to Saturday and from 7.30am to 10.30pm on Sundays.  Passengers travelling in business and first class and members of Cathay Pacific’s Marco Polo frequent flyer programme at the Silver tier (and Oneworld equivalents) are eligible to use the lounge.

In addition to the press images below, Cathay Pacific has also produced a short film on its lounges which has been filmed at various lounge locations in the world.

There are more images of Cathay Pacific lounges on the commercial portfolio section of the Studioilse website.
