British Airways has announced that it will increase its flights from London Heathrow to Seattle from 7 to 10 weekly from 3 April 2013.
The extra daily flight will operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Flight BA53 will depart London Heathrow at 09:20 and arrive in Seattle at 10:55. Flight BA52 will depart Seattle at 14:20 and arrive at London Heathrow 07:30.
The eastbound departure is very early for a West Coast flight and whilst the arrival time is convenient for onward connections it is not conducive to sleeping onboard.
The extra flight is possibly a competitive response to an expected launch of a London – Seattle service by Delta, which is also seeking regulatory approval for a joint-venture with Virgin Atlantic. More details about the extra flight are on BA’s trade website.
