British Airways guidance following President Trump’s Executive Order banning nationals from Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Yemen and Libya

As has been widely reported around the world, President Trump has issued an Executive Order banning nationals of Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Yemen and Libya from entering the United States of America.

The Executive Order has effect for a period of 90 days, until 27 April 2017.

In light of this, British Airways has issued guidance to affected passengers.

If you are national of one of the seven countries included in the Executive Order and are due to travel on any British Airways operated flight to the USA up to 27 April 2017 then you can:

  • Obtain a full refund; or
  • Reroute from your original departure point to an alternative destination on BA’s network (with any difference in fare paid)

This policy only applies to British Airways operated flights to the USA (which are all currently operated from London).  It does not apply to flights operated by its transatlantic codeshare partners Aer Lingus, American Airlines, Iberia and Finnair.  It also only applies to tickets issued by British Airways (these are ticket numbers which begin with the number 125).
