Delta and Virgin Atlantic have announced the start of codeshares on each other’s transatlantic flights between the UK and North America for bookings made from 29 June for travel from 3 July.

US Department of Justice & European Commission approve Delta Air Lines’ investment in Virgin Atlantic
The US Department of Justice has today issued a statement confirming that it intends to take no further action in respect of the proposed acquisition by Delta Air Lines of Singapore Airlines’ 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic and the proposed joint-venture between Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic for routes between London Heathrow and North America.

Delta continues its focus on growing its presence at London Heathrow having today announced that as part of its Quarter 1 results release it has purchased two pairs of take off and landing slots at Heathrow for $47m.
Delta proposes London – Salt Lake City & Seattle services under joint-venture with Virgin Atlantic
As expected, following Delta’s acquisition of a 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic from Singapore Airlines, Delta and Virgin Atlantic have applied for anti-trust immunity for transatlantic flights from London Heathrow. Delta will continue to operate a joint-venture with Air France KLM for transatlantic flights to points beyond London Heathrow.
